Austin

Austin needs bone marrow and can't find a match and doesn't have much time to live. Somebody is walking around with his bone marrow match and they don't know it. We have to find them and we are putting a All Points Bulletin to find it.

This could happen to our relative in the next minute, hour, day, week, month, year, decade etc.

Here is what you can do to help Austin and many others...

1. Join his Facebook group
2. Send out request to all your friends and ask them to join.
3. Send the letter to Oprah that is written below or send your own and ask her to help.
4. Sign up on the bone marrow registry. (Go to www.needbonemarrow.com to find out how to sign up in your Country)
5. Ask your local media to write a story.
6. Go to the bone marrow drive that is in your area and sign up or volunteer to help out.

Needing bone marrow has no borders. You may help someone in another Country but the good news is someone from another Country may help you.

Why is it important to take the time to join the group?

Do it now because you may forget and Austin doesn't have time on his side.

1. When the media sees the numbers climbing they will do new stories and people will then sign up on the registry.

2. Your friends may not take the time to join but they will read the information.

3.Because you could be the link to find the bone marrow match.

4. If the numbers get high enough then Oprah may do a story and we would get world wide attention.

Things you should know about giving bone marrow...

1. They don't take your bone out. They take the marrow out of the bone.

2. There is 2 ways of giving bone marrow and one is they give you medicine 1 week before to produce extra marrow and then they take it out of your blood. The other is to take it out of your hip bone with a needle.

3. I gave bone marrow to a young teen and there is a small amount of pain (Not even close to gall stones or having a baby)

You will see Austin on Oprah one day if you give this to everyone on your email list and invite them to join.

I met Austin's parents, through our planned event to raise awareness to bone marrow in Leamington Ontario, called Camp 4 Compassion. www.camp4compassion.com

It got national attention so they drove miles to come to the event to get the word out about their son and to get help from us. They live in Hamilton Ontario. Austin has Aplastic Anemia and he needs bone marrow. He doesn't have time on his side and he needs to get world wide attention now. This could be a give away on your show one time and you would save many lives.
